Wow, what a crazy, long, fun, tiring, exciting week.
On Monday, I got to Rosario and met up with my companion, Elder Marin from Paraguay. He has 18 months in the mission and has been assistant for 4, so must likely, we will be together for the next 6 months. He’s so spiritual and I’ve already learned a ton from him. Monday night, we went and ate dinner with and had the last testimony meeting of all of the missionaries who are going home. Then, on Tuesday, we said goodbye to all of them and went to the airport to go pick up the new missionaries. That was super fun, I felt like it was my first day in the mission again, but it was weird to be on the other side of things haha.
We have some awesome people we are working with here. One lady named Susana, who started to read the Book of Mormon every day. She smoked, but told us that as she started reading it, she didn’t even want to smoke anymore, and hasn’t smoked since then. We are also teaching another girl named Gimena, who is 16 and loving the church. She’s really searching for a strong testimony. And then, this mom with the cutest family named Maria Paz. This week, we went to her house, and she had read 40 CHAPTERS of Alma in 1 week! She´s awesome and we are helping her work towards baptism.
On Friday, we had a leadership conference that was fun. We gave a workshop and got to work with the Zone Leaders of the mission. It’s pretty weird, because I’m still by far the youngest. Every one else has well over a year, so that’s been crazy being assistant so young haha.
On Saturday and Sunday, we watched General Conference! It was awesome, and 8 of the people we are teaching were able to come. I feel so blessed to have the gospel in my life and to know where I can find happiness in Jesus Christ.
On Sunday night, President and Hermana Allred made dinner for us and we planned out our Zone Conferences for this week. Hermana Allred made cinnamon rolls which were sooo good haha, it’d been a while since I’d eaten one. We have a big week this next week, with 3 zone conferences and lots of stuff to plan. We are super excited.
I’m loving being assistant! It’s been a super exciting experience, and my testimony has already grown so much. The Lord answers prayers if we can pray with faith. I love you all! Thank you for everything. If there’s anything I can do for you, please lemme know. I love you guys!
