Week 22 – Milagros 2

We’ll start off this week with a miracle. In my first transfer, we found and started teaching this 15 year old girl named Milagros. She progressed super fast and is reading the Book of Mormon and praying every day and goes to church every week, but the problem was that her parents are very Catholic and wouldn’t let her get baptized. We’ve continued teaching her, but we figured it would be a couple months or longer until she got baptized. But then tonight, we went to her house to talk with her and she told us that she’d talked with her parents about her desire to get baptized, and they said that she could! So we are planning that and hoping that everything goes well and that she can get baptized April 13th! It’s super cool to see the Lord’s hand in this work. It kind of felt like there was not a lot of hope at the end of this transfer, with General Conference and District (Stake) Conference that we have, but the Lord is preparing the way for us and helping us to have this success.

I had my interview with Presidente Allred this week and that was awesome as always. I love that guy so much. He’s so loving and an awesome mission president. He said that I’d most likely be leaving Venado Tuerto at the end of this transfer, so that’ll be interesting to see what happens.

I had splits with Elder Almendras, my District Leader from Chile on Thursday. We went to a house where he and his companion had just taken a demon out of someone so that was interesting. She’s doing a lot better so that’s good.

Shrek is still doing good, he’s followed us around almost every day this week. All of the dogs will gang up and fight other dogs from outside of the neighborhood, so there’s a lot of times where we have to break up fights by kicking the dogs and throwing rocks at them (like everyone does here haha), but he stays with us always. But he will always come inside the houses while we teach and all of the people love him haha. We also saw Dave, our old dog from like 3 weeks ago and he got so excited and ran up to us haha we took a picture.

This week has been awesome. We’ve been talking with a lot of people and have a lot of new investigators. We had 6 people come to church, which is awesome and we are super excited. We haven’t been having too much success during this time in Venado, but it’s super awesome to see those promised blessings start to come. The Lord really does have a plan, even when we can’t see it, we just have to trust in Him and His timing. There’s a lot of times where we can think “Why is this happening to me?” or “How am I supposed to get through this?”, but the Lord really does have a plan and knows how to help us the best. We just have to trust in Him, and work to make the best and learn from our challenges. Thank you all for all of your support and prayers. I love you guys! Please let me know if there’s anything I can do for any of you!
