It has been such a fun week here in here in Rosario. We’ve had tons of cool experiences and I’m so happy to be here in the mission.
The coolest part of the week was an ex-missionary, Elder Killpack, who was one of my first APs that I had in the mission, came back and visited with his parents! So on Sunday, we walked into church and he was there which was way fun. It was so weird seeing him pick up the kids, and greet people with a kiss on the cheek haha. Then, we were blessed with the opportunity to eat lunch with them and President and Sister Allred. That was so fun. Then at night, Elder Killpack hosted a huge asado with lots of families from the ward which was awesome. That was a crazy, different day.
Then on Monday, they took us to buy our groceries and said “We want you to think about your moms who are praying that you always have what you need as we buy your groceries today.” And they took us through the store just throwing things in the cart in all of the aisles. It was such a loving act of service and made me feel so blessed. We have LOTS of food haha.
This week, we’ve been teaching Brian and Aldana, this young couple who we’ve been teaching now for a few weeks. They are progressing a ton and are so excited for their baptism. They should be getting married soon so we are very excited for that. Brian had to work on Sunday, so he wasn’t able to come, but Aldana and her daughter Alma walked all the way to church and got there before us. Vanesa Medina, a recent convert, was bearing her testimony about Elder Killpack and how grateful she was for him and the change that he´d help to make in her family, and Aldana leaned over to us and said “In a few months, I’ll be saying the same about you guys.” I love that family so much.
This week, I had some way fun splits. First, with my old MTC companion Elder Smith! Then, with Elder Landvatter from Salt Lake on Thursday. And on Friday, one of my good buddies who I started the mission with, Elder Lampros. That was tons of fun and I’m learning lots.
This is my last week with Elder Marin. It’s crazy to think about. I remember 4 transfers back when Presidente called me and told me that I’d be his companion here in Belgrano, and that was like the next chapter in my mission. And now, that chapter is finishing and it´s crazy how fast time has gone. I’ve loved my time here with Elder Marin. It’s been where I’ve learned the most and worked the hardest. He’s been such a great example of diligence, dedication, and desire to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. We’re gonna work hard this last week together. We have a crazy week this week. We have two more splits, interviews with President, Mission Leadership Conference, transfers, and several other things haha. We are super excited!
I love you guys. Thank you for your prayers and for all that you do for me. I’m so beyond blessed and so grateful for every one of you. The mission is such an incredible experience. I love it and I love the gospel. I love my Savior.
