Reassignment – CA San Jose

After several weeks of limbo, Elder Tate Cannon will be returning to the mission field. He has been reassigned to the California San Jose mission (Spanish speaking). He will depart on Wed May 13. He is excited for this new opportunity and the chance to continue to serve, while many of his friends still wait or have been released due to COVID-19.

These have been crazy weeks for everyone. But we are grateful for the chance that we have had to reconnect with Tate without the chaos that normally ensues a missionary’s return. We’ve played hundreds of games, worked on puzzles, gone on long walks, discussed his Argentina experience in detail, talked about future plans, and more. While the pandemic has caused sorrow for many, this has been a time of joy for our family, as we have reflected on the blessings from the Gospel and following the commandments. For weeks, we have had no direction to whether Tate was done or not. But, Tate expressed his faith that he was willing to do whatever the Lord asked of him. We are excited for the new opportunities and connections that he will make in another corner of the vineyard.

Thanks for your support!
